Cookie policy
Definitions
Cookies are small text strings that websites visited by the user send to the user's device (usually the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites upon the user's subsequent visit. Cookies are stored, according to the user's preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Types of cookies
Based on their characteristics and use, cookies can be divided into different categories:
Strictly necessary cookies
These are cookies essential to manage login and access to restricted site functions, typically for updating pages by web editorial teams. The duration of these cookies is strictly limited to the working session (they are deleted when the browser is closed). Disabling them compromises the use of services accessible via login. The public area of the sites remains normally usable.
Technical cookies (analytics and performance)
These are cookies used to collect and analyze site traffic and usage anonymously. These cookies, while not identifying the user, allow, for example, detection of whether the same user returns at different times. They also allow monitoring of the system and improvement of its performance and usability. On some pages of this site, they may store user preferences regarding font size and preferred display mode (graphic, high contrast, or text-only) for content accessibility purposes. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
Profiling cookies
These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or otherwise) user preferences and improve the browsing experience.
Cookie duration
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” the closing of the browser and are also available during subsequent user visits. These cookies are called persistent cookies and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation.
Cookie management
Users can decide whether to accept cookies by using their browser settings. Total or partial disabling of cookies may compromise the use of site functionalities but will not prevent browsing. Settings can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Below are web resources explaining how to proceed for each of the main browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari.
Google Analytics
This site may include components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). These are third-party cookies used to collect and analyze information on user behavior on the site in anonymous form. These cookies are used to store non-personal information. Google Analytics protects the confidentiality of its data. For further information, please refer to the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245. Users can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
